THE FESTIVAL

The Canadian Festival of Spoken Word hits Vancouver this October. This is Canada's first rotating spoken-word festival: it moves from city to city each year celebrating what Canada's regional spoken word scenes have to offer.

We began in 2004 as the Canadian Spoken Wordlympics in Ottawa, which was a stellar success and an inspiration for hundreds of artists and audience members. This year Vancouver gets to show Canada its stuff (and check out some of the greatest performers from across Canada and abroad). We will be rollling into Toronto for October 2006, so please join us when we're in your town! Or take it as an excuse to travel!
